Welcome!

On this website we provide information about our mission:

Generate donations to reach the poorest of the poor - especially in the north-western Syrian province of Idlib, which is not controlled by the Syrian regime of Assad - and which is plagued by permanent war, earthquakes (most recently in February 2023), poverty, housing shortages, disease and lack of prospects.

We make sure that all donations reach their destination (minus only the foreign transfer fees and our advertising costs, which are essentially limited to the operation of this website).

In addition to direct emergency aid for Syria, we organise civil society contributions to successful democracy at home in Hesse and Waldeck-Frankenberg - such as the interdisciplinary conference ‘Demokratie-Forum Waldeck-Frankenberg’ (Korbach, November 2024; website in German).

+++ Since Wednesday, 27 November 2024, we have been observing - with deep concern for the civilian population - the fighting between rebel and Islamist groups on the one side and regime troops on the other, especially around the city and governorate (province) of Aleppo. ‘Our’ province of Idlib is also within the theatre of this war, as the advance of the anti-Assad troops began here and the Russian air force has been intensifying its bombing of Idlib city and governorate since the start of the current fighting.

+++ Since Sunday, 8 December 2024, dictator Assad is history. We are monitoring the situation on the ground and our donations are helping to empower the people of Syria to help build a future Syria - in freedom and democracy, we hope. +++
